- Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo and his assistant both seriously injured their ribs in a bus accident that took place early Sunday morning, as the band was on tour in the northeast. According to band webmaster Karl Koch, a tour bus carrying Cuomo, his wife and daughter and two assistants lost control after hitting a patch of black ice on I-90 outside of Albany, NY. The bus went off the highway and fell 8-10 feet into a ravine. Koch writes on weezer.com, "Kudos to the driver for somehow keeping things as level as they could be - surely this story would have been far more tragic if not for his actions."
As one would expect, the final dates of Weezer's December tour have been cancelled: Wednesday night in Washington, D.C. and Thursday night in Camden, NJ. Koch says the band will attempt to reschedule them in the future. There are a handful of west coast shows set for mid-January, but the fate of those dates are currently unknown. - Pearl Jam have announced a handful of European tour dates for the summer of 2010. The band will play Ireland, England, Germany, France, Belgium and Portugal in late June and early July next year. Seven dates have been announced so far, with four more shows potentially to be announced.
- Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti says the reunited Rock band will likely tour in 2010, telling Billboard a short tour is planned for April to hit markets they missed this year. Creed will then tour overseas in June, followed by a summer tour of North America. In the meantime, Tremonti is working with singer Myles Kennedy on a third album from Alter Bridge, the band formed in the wake of Creed's breakup. Tremonti says that the plan is to finish the Alter Bridge album before Creed's 2010 touring begins, with Alter Bridge to hit the road at the end of next year.
- Theory Of A Deadman will be launching a full headline tour of the U.S. on January 18 in Minneapolis. The tour will wrap up at the end of February, with more dates still to be announced. "After spending 2009 supporting some amazing bands throughout the U.S. we wanted to start 2010 off with a great headline tour for all our American fans," said singer Tyler Connolly. "We're bringing our friends Halestorm, Adelitas Way and Taking Dawn with us. So, it's gonna be great show that you cannot miss."
